Respected Nigerian pastor and acknowledged inspirational speaker, Dr. Segun ‘Tremendous’ Oshinaga has during his missionary journey to Kenya on the invitation of the Kitui Pastors Forum, led by Bishop Dr. Joseph Nganda, met with Kitui County Assembly Hon. Speaker, Hon. Kevin Katisya Kinengo and other members of the County Assembly on partnership for transformative leadership and governance conference.

Dr. Oshinaga’s visit to the county as a missionary and speaker was to inspire the leaders and emphasize the important role of servant leadership in governance.

While speaking during his visit to the speaker’s office with other members of the county legislator in attendance, Dr. Segun Oshinaga passionately urged leaders to adopt the position of servant leaders and prioritize the interests of the people. He emphasized that such leadership resonates with the divine calling to serve and has a profound impact on the people and society.

Reflecting on the essence of selfless leadership, he remarked, “Truly, the people will remember us for the service we render to them.” 

In his address, the speaker of the County Assembly of Kitui, Hon. Kevin Katisya Kinengo, acknowledged the church’s vital role as a key stakeholder in governance and expressed his unwavering commitment to collaborate with the church on servant leadership in governance. “The Assembly would always be ready to partner with the religious community for the greater good of the people”, the speaker assured.

The presence of distinguished Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) during the visit and at the meeting further gives credence to dedication of the partnership approach. Notable MCAs at the meeting include the Dep. Speaker representing Kyangwithya West, Hon. Christopher Nzilu, the Majority Leader, Hon. Harrison Maluki for Migwani and the Majority Whip, Hon. Boniface Katula for Kayangi. 

Others are Hon. Judith Wanza for Nuu, Hon. Kimanzi Muange for Tseikuru, Hon. Daniel Ngoima for Township, Hon. Titus Kasinga for Mumoni, Hon. Bernard Mwangangi for Mwingi Central and Hon. Alphonse Mukwayu for Kyome/Thaana.
