NIGERIA BAPTIST SET TO HOST THE GLOBAL BAPTIST FAITHFUL AT BAPTIST WORLD ALLIANCE ANNUAL GATHERING
The Baptist World Alliance (BWA), the global umbrella for Baptist family organization, is set to hold its annual gathering in Nigeria for the first time.
The global event will see congregants and participants from various countries attending the annual gathering.
The annual gathering is scheduled to be held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, and the Baptist International Convention Centre (BICC) on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway simultaneously.
The event’s major highlight, which will commence on Sunday, July 7, 2024, and end on Friday, July 12, 2024, is the 10th Baptist International Conference on Theological Education, also known as, BICTE. The BICTE will run specifically from July 5th – July 7th.
The Baptist World Alliance, comprising 51 million people across 130 countries and 253 member bodies, is unified by a primary mission to impact the world for Christ.
The event is expected to offer Baptists across the globe an opportunity to connect through worship and praise, prayer, spiritual and human development, networking, relationship building, and sharing ministry experience.
According to the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, the Nigeria Baptist Family is glad to host the global Baptist Family and welcome the congregants to Nigeria to deepen fellowship and bond among its members.
He added that hosting the global Baptist members is intended to leverage the impact of Baptist mission work in Nigeria and accord the congregants and participants the opportunity to advance the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in Nigeria.
