“God has empowered us to exceed expectations in governance, service delivery, or personal lives. For example, through your cooperation and prayers, we have made significant strides in improving infrastructure, strengthening education, enhancing public health, and fostering security across the state. Let this theme inspire us to live even more in co-sufficiency”, he added.
Sanwo-Olu called for more innovation, collaboration, and excellence delivery from public servants, “I encourage you to embody these values by mentoring your colleagues, contributing your time to community outreach, and leading initiatives that uplift those in need. I also extend my gratitude to the leadership and planning committee of the fellowship for their effort in this outreach. You have exemplified love, service, and Thanksgiving”.
He urged the public servants to reflect on the values that unite and strengthen them as a people of love, compassion, and generosity. “Let us remember that the true essence of Christmas is not only in receiving, but in giving, either through acts of kindness, sharing of resources, or uplifting the less privileged among us. These are the pillars of true leadership and community building”, he said.
“As an administration, we remain committed to creating an enabling environment for every citizen to strive. This vision is not what we can achieve alone, with efforts of every dedicated public servant whose work, with integrity and purpose, will build a legacy that reflects the greatness of the people”, he added.
Mr Sanwo-Olu thanked the public servants for their prayers, partnership, and unwavering support. He wishes them a merry Christmas and God’s guidance, “As the year draws to a close, let us look forward with renewed hope and energy, with God as our sufficiency, There is no challenge great, no dream too lofty, and no community too distant to be touched by our collective efforts”, he admonished.
In her goodwill message delivered by Mrs. Ibironke Dawodu, the wife of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, expressed gratitude to God for witnessing and celebrating another Christmas Outreach. “Today, we gather mark this joyous season and to reflect on its true essence; that is, love, kindness, generosity, and the unending benevolence of God in our lives”, she stated.
“While celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us reflect on the love of God, both in our words and in actions. Let us be mindful of the less privileged among us, continually extending care and compassion to those in need. The Word of God instructs us to love our neighbour as ourselves, which is a timeless principle that we are called to practice every day of our lives”, she admonished.
Hamzat commended the LSPSCF and harped on forgiveness, peace and reconciliation. “Your dedication and commitment to efforts to serve humanity exemplifies the power of faith and the strength of a community. It inspires to do more. In this season, as ambassadors of Christ called to spread His message of love, hope, and redemption, let us hold fast to the values of forgiveness, peace, and reconciliation. As we seek God’s sufficiency, let us remain united in supporting one another and sharing our blessings”, she said.
Meanwhile, the General Overseer of Full Redemption Holiness Church of God, Lagos, Pastor Matthew Adu, in his message as a guest speaker during the Christmas Outreach has declared that, another word for God of all-sufficiency is, Self-existent and a strong God.
Speaking on, “How to Enjoy God of All Sufficiency” in-line with the theme text, 2 Corinthians 3: 5, Adu said, Christianity is not theology, it is practical. “When you have an encounter with God, your life will not remain the same because, you would understand that, He has adequate provisions to handle all things concerning His creations”.
“We have known God as the one that is sufficient in all and have seen Him demonstrating His power as the one that can meet all needs. He created everything out of nothing, that’s why He is God”, he said.
Adu stressed that, when the children of Israel came out of Egypt and went to the land of Canaan, they spent 40 years passing through the wilderness and the only available water was bitter, God provided for the children of Israel where there were no supermarkets, He instructed Moses to smite the rock with his rod and water came out from there.
“To enjoy sufficiency, God wants us to be open, to know Him, and to follow Him all the days of our lives. We must know God step by step and stage by stage. This is the reason to personally know Him, experience Him, and talk about Him. Not until someone gives you a teaching that is not of God”, Pastor Adu charged.
Pastor Adu further reveals some ways to access God of all-sufficiency; 1. Realize that God is your sufficiency, 2. Have a relationship and fellowship with Him, 3. Receive divine guidance and acknowledge Him in all your ways, 4. Rely on Him completely and have absolute faith in Him and His promise, 5. Remain under His authority and control, as your God, Father and Shepherd.
The President of Lagos State Public Service Christian Fellowship (LSPSCF), Rev. Hunsu Oluremi Sena, in his remark, ascribed the success of the outreach to God. He has taken us this far and no man can share in His glory, without Him, we can do nothing.
He called on Nigerians to genuinely return to God. Emphasizing that, the outreach theme, according to the scriptures, the sufficiency of God starts with the salvation and redemption of our souls. Once that is done, all other things will be added to it.
“No matter what we are passing through, we should depend and trust in God, He is a limitless God with inexhaustible treasure, there is nothing He cannot do. Nigerians and Lagosians should look forward to God’s sufficiency and provisions in 2025”, he said.
, the Presiding Chaplain of the Chapel of Christ the Light (CCTL), Alausa, Ikeja, commented and said the theme, the God of all sufficiency is timely word for Nigerians. Looking at the situation around the world, there is scarcity and poverty, but only God can make provisions sufficient enough for us.
People should look up to God in all ramifications. He’s the author and finisher of our faith. He never disappoints.. “As we end this year and go into the year 2025, things will get better. What is scarce today will be plenty tomorrow and God of all sufficiency will continually be our God,” he prayed.
In his contribution, the Secretary of LSPSCF, Rev. Dr. Taiwo Allen-Richardson said, God has been good to us, The God of all-sufficiency have the power to do all things and with Him nothing is impossible. By this time tomorrow, as we move into the year 2025, it’s going to be a better year and a year of sufficiency for everyone.
“Nigerians should trust in God, not in a man or government. There’s going to be a turnaround in Nigeria and there shall be no more lack. Let’s look forward to the manifestation of His power and presence in all our expectations”, he advised.
