    Foursquare Festac Hosts Career Conference for the Youths, unveils Empowerment Opportunities

    Foursquare Festac Hosts Career Conference for the Youths, unveils Empowerment Opportunities 

    As part of activities for Foursquare Gospel Church, Festac District’s ongoing 30th Convocation Anniversary celebration, themed “Highway to Holiness”, which reflects the district’s commitment to uphold spiritual depth while engaging with culture and society with relevance.

    The church organised a successful and impactful Enterprise and Career Fair on Saturday, 2nd August 2025to equip the youth with the tools for career development, entrepreneurship, and skill acquisition.

    The event, held at the Festac District headquarters, attracted mainly young people from different walks of life, including job seekers, artisans, young entrepreneurs, students, and professionals across Lagos. It featured keynote presentations, business exhibitions, and practical masterclasses focused on the evolving world of work and enterprises in Nigeria.

    Speakers at the conference are representatives of ICS Outsourcing, Gradworld Concept Ltd, and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF). They respectively provided expertise insights into hiring trends, talent readiness, entrepreneurship pathways, and public-private support for youth development.

    Participants were guided on CV writing, job interviews, startup funding, and leveraging digital skills in today’s competitive marketplace.

    Highlights of the conference were that ICS Outsourcing, in partnership with LSETF and GIZ (German Development Agency), announced the commencement of a youth training initiative to equip 100 Nigerian youths between the ages of 18–35 with employability and trade-based skills, a timely intervention to curb youth unemployment and boost small enterprises’ capacity.

    According to the District Overseer of Foursquare Festac District, Rev Abimbola Samuel, “This conference is not just another church event, but a strategic response to the economic and spiritual needs of our youth. We are glad to create a platform that goes beyond inspiration to meaningful impact.”

    The conference is one of the several activities celebrating 30 years of growth, impact, and service in the Festac District. Other programmes already concluded include a football competition that brought youth from across the district together in a display of sportsmanship and fellowship.

    There was a Pre-Convocation prayer and fasting that enabled the congregation across the six zones in Festac District to unite in daily intercession for the church and the nation. A career and enterprise exhibition, which showcased small businesses, skills, and services within the Christian community, also took place.

    Other lined-up activities ahead of the convocation anniversary are spiritually rich and community-focused events, featuring Night of Awesome Praise & Power Encounter, and prophetic worship with guest ministers. Business meetings and Jesus market, an outreach to the needy and widows in the Festac environment, are also included.

    The week-long anniversary grand finale and Thanksgiving with the dedication of the New Agboju District Headquarters Church building will take place on Sunday, August 17th.

    As the district marks a significant milestone, members and the public are encouraged to participate in the celebration, a journey of impact, growth, and revival spanning over three decades.
