The Nigerian Christian Community Mourns the Passing of Bishop Theophilus Taiwo Ajose, …to be buried on Friday, 25th June, 2026
The Nigerian Christian community and the Church were shocked and plunged into a dark moment of grief and sorrow upon learning of the sudden passing of the globally acknowledged intercessor and prophet, Bishop Theophilus Taiwo Ajose, the Presiding Bishop of Bishop Ajose Ministries International, also President of the Global Intercessors Network in Nigeria.

Until his demise on Saturday, May 16, 2026, Bishop Ajose had significantly impacted the Nigerian Christian community, notably championing the cause of Christians engaging in politics, participating in party politics, and assuming governance roles.
As an active member of various Christian, governmental, and non-governmental organizations, Bishop Ajose diligently served with passion, playing pivotal roles in organizations such as the Lagos State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), where he was the pioneer Director of the Directorate of Politics and Governance (DPG), and Renewed Ministers for Christ (RMC), for which he was the National Secretary. Also he served as the Director General of the Centre for Politics and Governance (CPG), the political arm of RMC, and as Lagos State Vice Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria/Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN/CPFN), a bloc of CAN, where he demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment.

The respected Lagos State indigene, born in Badagry area, served the Nigerian Christian community meritoriously in various capacities with friendly and charismatic personality.
Notably, served as the Special Adviser (General Duties) to Bishop Prof Stephen Adegbite, the Lagos State CAN Chairman and Executive Secretary of the National Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC).

At the time of his passing, Ajose would have celebrated his 61st birthday on May 31st.
He recently, on April 12th, observed the 5th year memorial service for his twin brother, Rev. Kehinde Ajose, and few days prior to his death, on Friday, May 15, 2026, Ajose was physically present at the KMEN Annual Summit where he was inducted as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Kingdom Men Global Network, a ceremony he actively participated without exhibiting any adverse signs. 
Bishop Stephen Adegbite recalled that their meeting on the same Friday lasted about three hours, unexpectedly becoming a farewell encounter.
Rev. Dr. Stephen Oyinlola, Chairman of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), Lagos State Chapter, expressed profound shock, revealing that he had spoken with Ajose on Friday evening, scheduling a meeting for later on Saturday, only to be informed of his passing thereafter.

Bro Julius Adegunna, thePublisher/Editor of PTL News said, it was almost unbelievable when I heard about his passage. I saw him last Friday at KMen’s Summit. We exchanged greetings. He worked for God till his last days.
The cause of death remains unknown as at the time of this report. Nonetheless, all indications suggested that Ajose was in good health and high spirits throughout the weekend, displaying no signs of illness or fatigue.
As condolences pour in for the family and the Christian community, social media platforms have been inundated with messages and visuals highlighting his relationships, encounters, and moments with people are being shared, with an outpouring of shock and tributes.

Bishop Ajose, renowned for his humility and warm smile, will be remembered for his dedication to serving God, humanity, and society. His unwavering commitment and loving heart made him readily available for service.
As announced, his glorious exit begins with a wake-keeping on Thursday, 24th June, 2026, at the Senator Remi Tinubu Lagos CAN Secretariat, Otunba Jobifele Way, opposite OPay office, Ikeja, at 4 pm, and the burial service will hold at the same venue on Friday, 25th June, 2026, at 10 am.

May his soul find eternal rest, and God grant his family, friends, the ministry, and the Church the strength to cope with his passing.
