Nigeria’s Case is Not Peculiar – Pastor Dipo Omolewa
The Senior Pastor of Impacting Lives Christian Centre, Asolo, Agric-Ikorodu, Lagos, Pastor Dipo Omolewa, has described the church’s present state as doing and getting better.
Pastor Omolewa said this while speaking at the church’s annual convention to be held on May 17th and 18th, 2025, theme “Open Heaven.”
“By God’s grace, today, the church in Nigeria is not doing badly; it is doing better. Though the church is not where it is going to, but it is no longer where it used to be”, he said,
Pastor Omolewa said the present state of Nigeria calls for prayer, not just prayer, but collective responsibility to do things right.
“We need to continue praying for our dear country, Nigeria. The Bible says, If the people that are called by my name shall humble themselves and turn to me and pray. But beyond prayers, we need to do what is right. When we start doing things the right way, things will be alright”, he said.
Adding, “We are hardworking and diligent people, but we need to position ourselves with a positive mindset that things will work in this country, and we are to make our country better with our contributions. No one will come from anywhere to help us make it better.”
He thinks, “Nigeria’s case is not peculiar; many countries have found themselves in similar situations and looking for a way out. But in our case, there’s a way out, if especially the Christians and the church, can come together in unity of the spirit, lift our voice to God, and do what is right, we will experience a turnaround in this country.”
Omolewa advised the people in government and positions of authority to have the right mindset and change of attitude to use their offices and make Nigeria better.
“We are fortunate as a country, some people have good intentions, but cannot express themselves because the system is polluted and corrupted. If those in positions of power can have the mindset that they have an opportunity to do things right, it will go a long way.
The people in government and positions of power, from the president, governors, legislators, ministers, to the traditional rulers and community leaders, should realise that this is a country and do things right. They know the right thing to do and can do it if they choose to. It’s a matter of mindset, but I pray God will touch their hearts to do the right thing.
“When the righteous are in power, the people and the land will be peaceful, but when the wicked are there, there will be lots of atrocity, insincerity, with many things happening and going wrong, and we can’t continue this way with things going wrong, the bad economy, insecurity, killings, corruption, immorality, ritual acts, and other vices. If things continue this way, it means the future of this country is bleak and we can’t fold our hands and be watching”, he declared.
Speaking at the church’s upcoming convention, Pastor Omolewa said the church was inaugurated in 2017 by Pastor Godman Akinlabi and has been growing and positively touching lives through the word of God.
“This year’s convention is going to be 2 days and unique. Every participant will have a life-changing experience with God, and I believe Heaven is open with unprecedented manifestation ahead of the convention.”
While expecting public participation of God’s blessing at the convention, our key guest minister is Rev. Toyin Kehinde, Pastor Dipo Omolewa stated.
