Nigeria Situation Demands Holistic Repentance, and Divine Intervention – Pastor Andrew Umoru, …at the PFN Lagos Mainland Province, “Help from Above” crusade
Pastor Andrew Umoru, Lead Pastor of the International Miracle Service (IMS), has emphasized that the current state of the nation is a cause for concern that transcends political circles, necessitating the attention of both policymakers and spiritual leaders. He called for the return of the nation to God’s plans through repentance for God to restore peace that has eluded humanity.

Addressing the Mainland Province of Lagos PFN annual May 30th open-air crusade, held simultaneously in all the provinces in Lagos State, themed ‘Help from Above,’ held at the Bariga Primary School complex in Bariga, Pastor Umoru lamented the prevailing insecurity, marked by frequent kidnappings, student abductions, and daily fatalities, underscoring the urgent need for solutions.

The crusade that featured Words of salvation, prayers, praise and deliverance was aimed at seeking divine intervention and resolution. Noting the frequency of prayers for national issues, Pastor Umoru stressed the imperative of repentance, citing the need for a paradigm shift rather than mere petitionary prayers, and referenced 2 Chronicles 7:14, which underscores the importance of humility, prayer, and righteousness in facilitating divine healing and restoration.

He said, man’s sinful nature has continued to hinder people’s supplications from being answered by God. “The accessibility to divine invitation, “Help from Above” for healing the land of every situation that has befallen humanity requires genuine repentance and sin atonement from mankind”.

He emphasized the collective responsibility for Nigeria’s challenges, highlighting pervasive corruption and the tendency to shift blame without acknowledging societal complicity.

When asked to compare Nigeria’s security situation with that of China, Pastor Umoru diplomatically declined, highlighting the uniqueness of each nation’s challenges and the need for context-specific solutions, instead urging Nigerians to seek divine assistance.

Pastor Umoru reiterated the importance of seeking ‘Help from Above’ in addressing the nation’s problems.

Earlier in his remarks, the PFN Mainland Provincial Chairman, Pastor Chinedu Momah, represented by the Provincial General Secretary, Pastor Moses Mboso, said the crusade was a call to repentance and calling on God to save humanity because true help can only come from God.
