    LSCPWB Management Visits CAN Chairman, Solicits his support

    LSCPWB Management Visits CAN Chairman, …Solicits his support

    The Management Staff of Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected chairman of Lagos State chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Steve Adegbite to solicit his support and the Lagos State CAN in the area of advocacy for LSCPWB programmes.

    In a release signed by Adepeju Adeyemi, AD, PA (CPWB), the Board Secretary of LSCPWB, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe led the delegation that made the request during their visit to the State CAN chairman, Bishop Stephen Adegbite at his Ogba Office.

    Gbafe acknowledged and commended the important role played by CAN in terms of patronage and team spirit towards ensuring a successful Pilgrimage in the past and therefore sought further co-operation of the association through the new chairman. She requested that CPWB should be given the opportunity to showcase their activities and advocate their programmes during major CAN events.

    According to Gbafe, “in the past the Board had such privilege and we would appreciate that it continue, because it gives us the avenue to showcase what we do in terms of Holy Pilgrimage to Jerusalem, Greece and Rome”.

    Gbafe further stated that the board looks forward to having a more robust working relationship with CAN under the Chairmanship of Bishop Stephen Adegbite.

    The Senior Secretary of the Synod, Diocese of Ikeja, Rev. Timothy Olatunji and the SA on media to the CAN chairman, Rev. Dapo Daramola during the management staff of LSCPWB visit to the CAN Chairman.

    The Director of Account, Dr.Olayinka Kilanko who led the prayers for a peaceful and successful tenure of the new chairman expressed the chairman’s humble nature while they were together on a holy Pilgrimage.

    He said, “I was surprised at the level of humility displayed by the Bishop during one of the holy pilgrimage. I being the Bus coordinator and he being the Bus cleric, he was unassuming and willing to work with me and others with sincerity and meekness.”

    In his response, Bishop Stephen Adegbite appreciate the State Government and the Board of LSCPWB for the visit, promising to fully protect the interest of Lagos State at the National level.

    Recalling his appointment as a member of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Adegbite said, “I told them point blank that I represent the interest of Lagos State 100% and would protect Lagos State interest”.

    Adegbite paid glowing tribute to the late Chairman of the Board, Bishop Olusola Ore and also acknowledged the team spirit of the Board Secretary, Mrs. Florence Gbafe and every staff member, promising to assist the LSCPWB in whatever capacity within his jurisdiction.

    The Bishop later prayed that the Almighty God will continue to shower His blessings, love, unity and peace upon Lagos State.

    Also in attendance during the visit are, the Bishop’s wife, Princess Adewunmi Fadeke Adegbite, the Senior Secretary of the Synod, Diocese of Ikeja, Rev. Timothy Olatunji, the SA on media to the Bishop, Rev. Dapo Daramola and management staff of LSCPWB.
