Enitan Osa-Oni, Shade Toyin-Kehinde, Femi-Asiwaju, Others Call on Mothers to Wake Up and Save Generations

Rev. Mrs. Enitan Osa-Oni and other concerned women have called on Nigerian women to take their rightful places in their homes and families.

Rev. Mrs. Enitan Osa-Oni made the call while speaking on the topic, “Women of Foresight,” during the 2026 International Women’s Conference held at the Agape Generation International Church, Maryland, Lagos. The conference was themed, “Guardians of Generations: Women Who Preserve Destiny.”

She said many of the problems in society today exist because mothers are absent from their roles, leaving children to grow up as they please, which has resulted in the societal challenges we are currently experiencing.

She admonished mothers to ensure they genuinely raise their children and guard them as the next generation, noting that this would help society and guarantee a better tomorrow.

Mrs. Osa-Oni advised Nigerian Christian women to teach their children the way of the Lord and not merely take them to church. She observed that many children today are not following in their mothers’ footsteps, despite their mothers’ faithful and committed service to God. While the mothers are regular in church, their children are regularly going to clubs.

“It is time for mothers to wake up and do something about taking their rightful places in the lives of their children to bridge that gap,” she said.

Meanwhile, earlier in her.message, Rev Mrs Enitan Osa-Oni stated that, foresight is the ability to anticipate future events, and the difference between success and regrets.

She said, those who make things happen are the game changers. They have foresight and are able to shape their future because, the future belongs to those who prepare for the future today.

Also speaking at the conference on “The Power of a Praying Woman,” Rev. Mrs. Afolake Olurombi stated that the first step is to give the instruction and then provide training for women to pray.

“There is a difference between giving the instruction and doing the training, but we have to pass across the message of prayer – to pray always in the presence of people without sentiment,” she said.

She added that they also demonstrated practical examples to participants and explained the reasons for constant prayer, the benefits of prayer, and how prayer works.

Appealing to women, Rev. Mrs. Olurombi advised them to prioritize and stabilize their prayer life.

“If women would create time, give attention to prayers, and practice what they have learned, as well as other prayer points, it will go a long way in guiding the future generation,” she stated.

In her remarks, the Convener and co-host of the conference, Rev. Dr. Shade Toyin-Kehinde, said the conference theme was meant to tell Nigerian females that they have an assignment.

I used the word ‘females’ to generalize all women irrespective of age, marital status, position, and class. “Every woman should know and understand that we have an assignment from God, and He has treasured and valued us enough to give us the ministry to be guardians of generations,” she said.

She emphasized the need for women to wake up to this divine mandate and responsibility, and to embrace and run with it.

“Every destiny that comes across our path, we have an assignment towards preserving them, and we should not live for only now or the present generation but understand that the mandate cuts across generations, including passing the baton to our immediate generation and to unborn generations, in a way that will create a generational impact,” she stated.

The well-attended four-day conference featured other guest ministers including Rev. Mrs. Elizabeth Oludayitan, Pastor Mrs. Oyeboade Akinola, Apostle Josephine Femi-Asiwaju, Rev. Dr. Folake Oladepo, and Apostle Lizzy Nkechi Ozioma Eke.

The conference drew participants from various fields, professions, and ministries, and featured impactful prayer sessions, soul-lifting worship, a healthy living seminar, testimonies, and a thanksgiving service.
