Polygamy is Rooted in Evil, Unrighteous Tradition – Dr Daniel Olukoya
Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), has warned Christians about the spiritual dangers of polygamy, claiming its origin in the Bible came from the line of the murderer king.
Speaking during a church service, Olukoya explained that polygamy was not introduced through the righteous line of Seth but through a lineage tied to violence. He quoted Genesis 4:23, where Lamech, a descendant of Cain, became the first man in the Scripture to marry more than one wife. The first time the Bible mentions a man with two wives, it was a man who had blood on his hands, Olukoya said, describing Lamech as both a murderer and a symbol of moral corruption.
He also cited Esau, son of Isaac, as another example. Referring to Genesis 26:34, Olukoya noted that Esau’s marriage to two pagan women brought grief to his parents and showed how polygamy could be linked to spiritual compromise.
Olukoya stressed that Christians should look at the origins of any marital practice before embracing it. If the root is corrupt, the fruit will be bitter, he warned, urging believers to build their homes on godly foundations rather than traditions that began in ungodly lines.
