    Lagos PFN Chairman, Yemi Davids Gives Account for N42.6M Benue Crisis Relief Initiative …appreciate donors, supporters

    The Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State Chapter, Pastor Yemi Davids, has presented a detailed report on the funds raised and relief efforts undertaken to support victims displaced by recent violent attacks in Yelwata, Benue State.

    Displaced people in their sorrounding the arrival of trucks load of materials and officials of Lagos State PFN to Benue State.

    These communities suffered devastating assaults from unidentified assailants, leading to the displacement of hundreds of families. The attacks were widely condemned, and several concerned individuals and organizations reached out in support.

    In a compelling video appeal following the crisis, Pastor Yemi Davids urged the Church in Lagos to respond proactively, stating, “Instead of cursing the darkness, the Church must shine the light.” Responding, PFN Lagos, in partnership with Acts of Mercy and Sesor Empowerment Foundation, launched the Benue Relief Campaign to mobilize support for the affected communities.

    According to Rev. Tonye Oliver, PFN Lagos Publicity Secretary and Director of Digital Media, a total of ₦42.6 million was raised through generous contributions from churches and individuals across Lagos.

    These funds were used to procure mattresses and bedsheets; essential household items, foodstuff and groceries in large quantities.

    These relief materials were distributed to over 1,000 displaced families, with a major focus on those in IDP camps within Yelwata and surrounding areas.

    Highlighting the transparency and direct impact of the campaign, the report, accompanied with verified video documentation showing the delivery and distribution process by the PFN team and partners.

    This initiative marks a significant demonstration of PFN Lagos’ commitment to accountability, compassion, and responsible leadership, encouraging other faith-based and civic organizations to take similar bold steps to alleviate suffering across the nation.

    Pastor Yemi Davids whose compelling words of appeal, “Instead of cursing the darkness, the Church must shine the light”, attracted large response of support from churches, Christian organisation, corporate entities, and individuals thanked churches, organizations, and everyone whose immensely supported and contributed with funds, materials, and human resources towards the success of the initiative.

    Recalled, Pastor Davids had during his inauguration as the Lagos PFN Chairman, promised the Church and Christians in Lagos of his commitment to transparency and accountability.
