GCM Pastor, Iruofagha James Declares 2025 a Year of “Behold, A New Thing” and urges the Nigerian church to raise a standard.
The General Overseer of Glory Christian Ministries, Ijeshatedo, Lagos, Pastor Iruofagha James has declared 2025 as a year of “Behold, A New Thing.” Speaking during the New Year crossover service of the church, Pastor James, quoting from the book of Isaiah 43:18-19, declared, “Behold, A New Thing” and said that it is a good thing for people to always hear the mind of God at the beginning of a new year in order to have divine direction and instruction to journey through the new year.
He said the choice of what people believe matters to determine what will happen to them. “There are different kinds of forces that rule, including the forces of the Kingdom of God, and the forces you choose to align with will determine what rules you. Therefore, it is our choice to believe the forces of the word of God to guide us or to take it out of context with levity,” he said.
He charged people not to allow any situation or circumstance to rule over them. “Situations are not meant to rule over your life if you believe God rules in the affairs of men and He is a deliverer.”
Explaining the nature of new things, Pastor James said that in spite of what you have experienced, the new thing will be fresh, better, and more exciting. Also, because God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, the new thing will be visible and noticeable in your life.
He admonished that if you’re used to doing things the same way and are not ready to change your pattern, it can become a hindrance or barrier to your expectations.
He called for a renewed mindset to embrace standards without compromising the originality and standard of the word of God with the aim for excellence in becoming much better and maximizing the potential of growing creatively.
Calling on the church in Nigeria, Pastor Iruofagha James said, “it is time for the church to raise a spiritual standard and Bible-based doctrines in the lives of the people instead of doctrinating them with all manners of self-styled church traditions and doctrines.”
While quoting from the scripture, he prayed and declared to the people to behold a new thing God is doing and about to do, not about the situation, but what God is saying and doing over the situation at this time.
