    Lago Reopens Churches Worship Centres August 7 With Conditions

    The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced that places of worship in Lagos will be reopened for religious activities from Friday, August 7.

    Sanwo-Olu disclosed this during a briefing on COVID-19 at the Lagos House, Marina.

    The Governor stated that worship centres must not accommodate more than 50 worshippers in attendance, noting that to ease the lockdown, services can only be held on Fridays in mosques and Sundays in Churches.

    He added, while listing the conditions, that persons who are 65 years and above should not be allowed in to the worship centres.

    While mosques are be reopened next week Friday, churches will follow suit on Sunday, August 9, the governor said.

    He warned, religious leaders must make available hand sanitisers and handheld thermometer checks, while the state government will ensure that social distancing is maintained.
