THE GOLIATH OPPORTUNITY By Dr. Segun ‘TREMENDOUS’ Oshinaga

As we approach the new year, it’s important to put all that didn’t work or hindered us in the past year behind us and set our sights on the opportunities and blessings inherent in the new year 2024. It is prophetically significant.

It’s my conviction that when God wants to bless and lift us, he throws or allows huge troubles to come our way. The word ‘Goliath’ is defined in the dictionary as someone or something that is abnormally large and powerful. Synonyms: behemoth, colossus, giant, monster. How does a monster become an opportunity?

‘Goliath Opportunity’ therefore means that every TROUBLE is an opportunity to get TREASURE. The believer is the David to every Goliath.

There will be many Goliaths in the year 2024 but let the David in you engage with the Goliaths and defeat them. Goliath represents some huge mountains, seemingly intractable troubles and unimaginably difficult situations.

    But Goliath is an opportunity!

In other words, troubles, difficulties, however great, are opportunities for you to become what God destined you to be.

THE GOLIATH OPPORTUNITY TURNED AN ORDINARY SHEPHERD BOY INTO AN EXTRAORDINARY VICTOR.

David went into his innocence. Just the everyday thing he was used to. And you know it’s the nearly insurmountable difficulties that we encounter in our daily lives that often present life’s greatest opportunities.

When God gets ready to bless you, he throws a Goliath into your life. Yes! You read me right. When God gets ready to promote you, He throws a Goliath along your path. What you do with the Goliath is what you’ve done with your destiny. If David had run away from Goliath, he probably would never have been king, despite the prophecies in his life.

There are potential Kings and great men, who forfeited their prophetic destiny and opportunities out of cowardice. Running away from trouble is tantamount to running from your destiny. If you read the history of men who changed the world, you will find that the turnaround in their lives happened at the point of great difficulties.

Every time there are difficulties, there are opportunities wrapped inside them. Difficulties are God’s messengers to bring out the best in us.

THE SIZE OF YOUR TROUBLE WILL EQUAL THE SIZE OF YOUR TREASURE.

The spirit of Goliath represents big enemies and giant problems. If you are currently battling with a situation or an entity that is threatening your peace, harassing you and intimidating you, you are facing a Goliath. If there is a situation or entity that is seeking to enslave you, you are facing a Goliath or a very powerful, or influential person or thing. Goliath is a metaphor for the challenges that stand between you and your dreams in the new year.

“And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. He had a bronze helmet on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. And he had bronze armor on his legs and a bronze javelin between his shoulders. Now the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam, and his iron spearhead weighed six hundred shekels; and a shield-bearer went before him.”

    I Samuel‬ ‭17‬:‭4‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

The Scripture elaborates on how protected Goliath was and the enormity of his resources This Goliath ain’t playing. He is out to crush whoever stands in his way. He is imposing and threatening but he was match from a man of destiny.

In the year 2024, you will bring home the head of all ‘goliaths’ who will attempt to hinder you.
