Philip Onwuka Emerges NDC Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 House of Reps Seat, Defeats Outgoing Hon. Okey-Joe Oniakalusi
In a notable political development, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in the Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency showcased unity, commitment, and confidence in democratic principles as they participated in large numbers in the party’s House of Representatives primary election held at the open field of Seith Adeniji Street, Ajao Estate.

The primary election widely commended by party members and observers for being transparent, peaceful, and fairly contested, has Philip Ikechukwu Onwuka emerged victorious with a significant total of 1,051 votes, securing the party’s ticket to represent the NDC in the Oshodi/Isolo Federal House of Representatives in the 2027 general election. Hon. Okey Okey-Joe Oniakalusi, the current member of the House of Representatives of Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 2, garnered 314 votes, while David Odijie secured 302 votes, placing third.
The overwhelming support for Hon. Philip Ikechukwu Onwuka was seen by party faithful as a strong endorsement of his leadership capabilities, grassroots appeal, and commitment to advancing the interests of Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency.

Earlier, at the election venue, contestant Sobola Olufemi Otubala withdrew his candidacy and endorsed Philip Ikechukwu Onwuka.

Philip Ikechukwu Onwuka described the primary election process as fantastic, with INEC officials and security operatives present to ensure the election’s integrity. “I’m delighted to emerge as the candidate of my party to represent my constituency at the coming general election into the Federal House of Representatives, and I assure the people of my constituency that I will represent them effectively and not disappoint them if I win the general poll,” he said.
