Pastors Involved in Sin of Immorality are Not Born Again – Mother Success Okeke
Mother Success Okeke, the Senior Pastor of Unstoppable Ambassadors Int’l Army Church, Lagos, and Jurisdictional Supervisor of Judah Ecclesiastical Joy, Church of God in Christ (COGIC), has urged Nigerian church leaders to yield to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, allowing Him to work in them, walk with them, teach, and direct their paths according to His instructions.
“The Church can genuinely demonstrate the answers to God’s call only by allowing the Holy Spirit to teach, guide, and lead them through His word,” she made this clarification during the 2-day jurisdictional conference of Judah Ecclesiastical Joy, COGIC, themed “Answering the Call”.
She added, “Serving God without genuine devotion is futile; thus, it’s important to dwell in Him, listen to His leading, and fulfill His desires.”
The purpose of every ministry, she explained, is to win souls and bring salvation to people, with the ultimate goal of helping the less privileged, widows, and orphans. “If the Spirit of God dwells in you, you won’t discriminate in doing God’s work; love and soul-winning will be the driving forces,” she noted.
Mother Success Okeke cautioned ministers who genuinely answered God’s call to remain focused. Warned against distractions and controversies surrounding pastors involved in immorality and extravagant displays. “Such actions are gross violation of trust and indiscipline in the body of Christ,” she stressed.
She emphasized that genuine servants of God will avoid sinful behaviors and instead exhibit Christ-like character. “Regardless of spiritual standing, titles or fame, many claiming to be men or women of God that are involved in atrocities and sinful character that demean God’s call, should step away from the pulpit to receive preaching, than to be leading ministries or congregations”.
“Don’t consider anyone a servant of God without a proof of their calling with Christ-like character,” she advised, and opined that, being genuinely born again, Spirit-filled, and discipled is incompatible with involvement in wrongdoings. “Many answering God’s call today need training and mentorship before embarking on their ministry journey”.
Criticizing the public display of material wealth by some men of God, Mother Okeke described it as insensitive and self-deluded. “A minister whose wealth doesn’t positively impact the lives of church members, especially the poor, the widows, and the less privileged, isn’t of God,” she counseled.
God’s blessings, she emphasized, are for a purpose and should be channeled towards fulfilling that purpose. “Let’s hear the testimony of lives transformed by your wealth, the poor who’ve been alleviated, students rejoicing at your intervention in paying their school fees – that will be a display of God’s glory,” she charged.
