NCPC BOSS URGES INTENDING CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS TO PRAY FOR THE PRESIDENT, VP, FIRST LADY
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has enjoined the intending Christian Pilgrims to Israel and Jordan, comprising Imo and Adamawa states, to uphold President Bola Tinubu, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, as well as the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in prayer while in the holy land.

According to a release by Celestine Toruka, the Deputy Director and Head of Media Relations, Bishop Adegbite made this disclosure on 26th September, 2025, while addressing the departing intending Christian Pilgrims at the Pilgrims Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
He explained that President Bola Tinubu wants their satisfaction, and for this reason, he is doing everything possible to fix Nigeria. In line with the President’s vision, the Commission won’t stop at anything to ensure that the pilgrims are satisfied, and in line with the ideals of the Commission’s Corporate slogan, Service and Satisfaction.

He further revealed that President Bola Tinubu has been very supportive of the cause of Pilgrimage in Nigeria, both Christian and Muslim Pilgrimages. He urged them to remember Nigeria in prayer while in the holy land as the country marks its 65th anniversary of nationhood.
He also enjoined the pilgrims to pray for Her Excellency, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who shares the same birthday year with Nigeria, having turned 65 years on 21st September.
Bishop Adegbite posited that the First Lady’s birthday year with Nigeria is not a mere coincidence, but providential.

He further urged the intending pilgrims to pray for peace in Israel, the Middle East, Nigeria and for peace in troubled homes, stating that Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace, and will give peace to everyone and every nation that needs it. He encouraged them to pray for their State Governors and themselves in the holy land.
He admonished them to shun any tendency to abscond in the holy land, stressing that it would bring shame to their families, the State and Nigeria. He emphasised that the Commission would continue to strive for zero abscondment of Pilgrims during pilgrimage, hence every mechanism has been put in place to checkmate it.
Meanwhile, the third batch of intending Christian Pilgrims landed safely at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, Jordan, on the 27th September at 1:15 am local time to begin their 10-day Pilgrimage program in Jordan and Israel.

This is the third batch of intending Christian Pilgrims to be airlifted to the holy land since the commencement of the NCPC 2025, delayed Easter Pilgrimage exercise on September 15, 2025.
