NCPC Boss Commends Lagos Pilgrims for Historic Achievement and Global Recognition for Nigeria
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, has declared the Lagos pilgrims the best group so far for being in Israel when significant history was made in Nigeria.

According to a statement by Ebunoluwa Olagoke, Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB), Adegbite made this statement during his sermon at the Sunday Service of the 2025 Pilgrims at Tabar Hotels in Nazareth, Israel.
Congratulating the pilgrims, he said, “It was during your batch that Nigeria was globally acknowledged, thanks to the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, who was publicly recognized by the American President, Mr. Donald Trump, at the yearly American National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC, as a respected woman of God.”

The NCPC boss further admonished the pilgrims to love the Word of God, as it is the basis of our faith in Christ Jesus, as written in John 3:16.
Bishop Adegbite also acknowledged the efforts of the Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Okudero Gbolabo Omoniyi, and his team for ensuring a successful pilgrimage exercise.

He described the Lagos Board Secretary as “a round peg in a round hole” and “a tested and trusted leader.”
In his response, Mr Okudero described Bishop Adegbite as an exemplary leader worth emulating.

He announced that pilgrims would receive the “Jerusalem Pilgrim” title on Monday, February 9, 2026, marking the completion of their journey in Christ’s footsteps in the holy land of Israel.
The pilgrims would spend a night in Nazareth and travel to Jordan before departing for Lagos State.
