Lagos PFN Charts A New Dawn, To Inaugurate Pastor Yemi Davids as Chairman
The Senior Pastor and Founder of the Global Impact Church, Pastor Yemi Davids, will on Saturday, August 31 be officially inaugurated and commissioned to lead the Lagos Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
The inauguration will be held at the Covenant Centre, Orile, Lagos at 9 am, and expected to attract about 5000 Pentecostals and other denominations Christian across the state, including government functionaries and captains of industries.
Pastor Davids will be inaugurated along with the newly elected Vice Chairman, Rev. (Mrs.) Janet Onaolapo, the General Overseer of the Abundant Life Bible Church and other executive members of the body.
The inauguration will mark the beginning of a new dawn in the fellowship following the successful tenures of 10 chairmen of the fellowship who served from 1986 to 2024.
The first Lagos PFN Chairman was Rev. Isaac Mpamaugo, who served between 1986 and 1990, Rev Wilson Badejo, 1990-1992, Pastor M. K Ogunbola 1992-1995, Pastor Paul Akapo 1995-1996 and Bishop Lawrence Osagie 1996-2000.
Also, Bishop Lanre Obembe led the fellowship between 2002 and 2005, Pastor Wale Adefarasin from 2005-2008, Apostle Alex Bamgbola from 2008-2014, Bishop Sola Ore from 2014 to 2020 while Apostle Eyinnaya Okwuonu led the fellowship from 2020 to 2024.
Pastor Davids was elected to succeed Apostle Eyinnaya by a 28-member electoral body in April following the results of the elections held recently, and supervised by the National Publicity Secretary of PFN, Bishop Dr. Emmah Isong. His emergence and election was described as a clean break from the past because of his credentials as belonging to the new breed of pastors with an avangardist view of life.
Pastor Davids is expected to bring his experience as a church planter and team leader to bear in his new role as the PFN leader in Lagos State.
Pastor Yemi will assume the leadership of the fellowship at a very crucial stage in PFN’s life and that of the nation, a time when challenges to unity, fellowship, justice, national integrity, righteousness and social justice in the body are being threatened.
He comes with a mandate to bring healing and unity, to inspire and energize the fellowship around the pillars of righteousness, integrity, and truth and to speak to the issues that bedevil the society and our nation.
Meanwhile, as the founding pastor of Global Impact Churches with headquarters at The Goodland, Ogudu area of Lagos, Pastor Yemi Davids is also, the President of Global Impact Institute (GII).
The graduate of Urban and Regional Planning from Obafemi Awolowo University, also founded the Living Word Campus Fellowship while as a student at the OAU and had a reputation for fraternizing with fathers of faith right from his school days. He is seen as a bridge builder between the Old and the New Generations of pastors.
He became a Christian while at the Abeokuta Grammar School as a result of his relationship with the Scripture Union Movement. He carried the experience to the university and had so far become a truly and genuine instrument in the hands of God.
Yemi Davids is a known church apologist. He believes in the unity of the church and has at several fora advocated the church to speak with one voice. His love for the church is seen in his willingness to honour invitations that draw participants from several denominations. He is a known resource person at leadership training forums within and outside Nigeria.
He is a sought-after speaker and highly gifted in practical teachings in the area of Divine Wisdom for Life. He has a passion for leadership and hosts the Ministers and Leaders Forum (MLF) dedicated to leaders. He is a member of the Faculty of Daystar Leadership Academy Executive and also possesses an Advanced Diploma in Pastoral and Transformational Leadership, RILA.
Yemi Davids holds a certificate from the Word of Faith Bible Institute [WOFBI] by Living Faith Church, Daystar Leadership Academy (DLA), Nigeria, Institute of Leadership & Management, United Kingdom, to mention but a few.
He is the author of several books, including the BE Great Daily Devotional, 7 Laws of Favour, In Pursuit of Academic Excellence, Etc.
Pastor Yemi Davids, a loving husband and doting father, is married to his heartthrob, Abimbola and together, they have four wonderful daughters.
