Christians Must Be Intentional to Secure the Presence of God – Archbishop John Osa-Oni
Archbishop John Osa-Oni, the presiding prelate and general overseer of Vineyard Christian Ministries (VCM), has urged Christians to transcend spiritual depression and radiate the glory of the Lord, thereby experiencing God in a novel dimension.

Osa-Oni made this call at the Destiny 2026 program, a five-day event organized by the Church to commemorate its 38th anniversary, themed “Time of Refreshing in His Presence.”

He emphasized the need for an intentional relationship with God, stating, “You must be deliberate in your desire for the knowledge of God to know Him… It is not a casual relationship like visiting your mother; it is an intentional relationship to dwell in His presence for refreshing, not behind.”

Citing scriptural references, he underscored the importance of being in God’s presence to be a vessel of His presence and grace, noting, “When you secure the presence of God, you secure life.”

The benefits of being in God’s presence include guaranteed rest, unstoppable joy, preservation of human life, and partaking in His divine nature, granting the right to enjoy life fully and have peace amidst strife. “You must make up your mind to live your life intentionally, and you cannot miss your way if you have His presence,” Osa-Oni advised.

Apostle Mrs. Josephine Femi-Asiwaju, Coordinator of the Lagos State PFN Women Wing, in her message, encouraged Christians to yearn for and abide in God’s presence, assuring that it provides clear identity and solace, stating, “Even if your character is faulty and you are weary in life, still be in His presence and abide in Him.”

Other notable speakers at the event included Archbishop Isaac Idahosa, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Ajose, Bishop Patrice Rapu, Bishop Bola Babaleye, and Bishop Sunday Ajayi.
