DOES PRAYER WORK? By David Aboderin

Many people pray and some even device prayer patterns, but do they really believe that the prayers are effective? Do they sincerely feel that what they are praying about will receive answers or are they just babbling out words?

We have turned prayers to trading and commerce where we speak about various needs, but not because we believe in God who answers prayers, just means of relieving ourselves from each of the burdens we felt.

People have turned prayers to incantations,  something like what the native doctor  will ask you to put in the mouth and say to get what you want. Money, money, money! It has become a means of making money from fools.

We talk of God who answers by fire but we don’t really believe it but merely make rituals out of it to attract others.  Why has this generation fallen so much into deceit of the devil and embraced religion more than God?

God says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

This word is for real and not  an ordinary statement from God?

Prayer works! God hears and answers prayers.

God says, “When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:13-14)

When we lack faith in God’s word, we uphold fear and the devil will ultimately have his way and destroy the people and the land.

There is a God in Heaven that answers prayers. He will not allow this nation to go under and His children become prey for the enemies.

The labor of the heroes of faith on this land shall not be in vain. Nigeria shall be at peace and be great again in Jesus name.
