2026 LAGOS PFN WOMEN’S CONFERENCE: Women Should Deal With Ambition, Idols – Rev Mrs Roselyn Oduyemi
Rev Roselyn Oduyemi, Senior Pastor & Co-founder of Bethel International Ministries, Ajah, Lagos, has stated that being positioned for glory goes beyond personal feelings, identity, knowledge, or background.
Quoting 1 Peter 2:9, Rev Oduyemi as a guest speaker during the 2026 Lagos PFN Women’s Wing Conference held at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja themed; “Positioned for Glory”, said, ‘Jesus has endowed everyone with gifts that carry His glory. Often, women are silenced due to cultural or marital constraints, but Jesus did not intend for women to be marginalized and silent.’
She stated further, “Regardless of whether you are with the microphone or not, everyone is unique, and no one is useless. Without exception, you are chosen and called to be extraordinary, make a difference, and manifest the inherent glory of a royal priesthood. Your circumstances do not define your potential; you are predestined for a purpose.”
Rev Oduyemi urged people to draw inspiration from the Lord’s words to Joshua, “Be bold, be courageous, be strong.” She emphasized that the decision to walk with courage and boldness lies with someone, stating, “Neither the devil nor anyone, including your spouse, can hinder you; only you can limit yourself.”
She highlighted that, “glory requires action, not complacency. It is about God relying on you to effect change. It may attract opposition, but you must be strong, bold, and courageous, for God has empowered you to reach nations, communities, families, and others.”
You are a royal priest, God’s special possession, positioned, placed, and anointed to declare His praises and showcase His glory. Your background or gender is irrelevant; God’s love and grace enable you to manifest His glory.
Rev Oduyemi identified obstacles that hinder positions for glory, including ambition driven by a lack of consecration and inordinate selfishness. ‘All fleshly endeavors that separate us from God’s positioning must die,’ she declared. Emphasizing that “life and ministry revolve around Christ, not personal titles or positions. It is essential to bury ambition and recognize that one cannot accomplish anything without God.”
She counseled women to allow God to deal with inaudible ambition that disregards His voice. Sharing her experience, she recounted how she stepped back when God instructed her to, despite her husband’s ministry calling, and how he later entrusted her with leadership responsibilities when his time came to pass on.
Rev Oduyemi advised women to understand that ministry is more than visible roles, emphasizing the importance of humility and obedience to God’s voice. She said, idolatry extends beyond physical objects to include obsessive behaviors and attitudes.
Noting that many women idols can be material possessions such as designer bags, shoes, or makeup, while others may idolize avoidance of anger, malice, and gossip despite engaging in these very behaviors themselves.
According to her, these forms of idolatry hinder spiritual growth and divert attention from more pressing issues such as saving lives, feeding the hungry, and preserving marriages and homes. She urged women to rid themselves of these idols and focus on what truly matters to God.
Rev. Mrs. Oduyemi also criticized the incorporation of secular activities into the ministry’s work, particularly the emphasis on numerical growth, which she deemed idolatrous. Instead, she emphasized the importance of passion for God, truth, and impactful living.
Calling for repentance, she highlighted the futility of worldly behaviours in the light of Jesus’ sacrifice for humanity’s glory and the establishment of God’s kingdom.
Using the example of Esther, who sacrificed personal comfort and time for divine favor and purpose, Rev. Mrs. Oduyemi encouraged women to prioritize their relationship with God, seek His presence, and abandon distractions that hindered their spiritual growth, so that they can fulfill their destinies and live their faith with purpose and power.
Apostle Josephine Femi-Asiwaju, Coordinator, Lagos State PFN Women’s Wing and the host, 2026 PFN Women’s Conference, earlier in her welcome address said that the theme of the 2026 conference, ‘Positioned for Glory,’ was both timely and prophetic.
She explained that Esther’s position in the palace was not accidental, just like the position of every participant and delegate at the conference.
Each person’s role, whether as a priest, preacher, or in any other capacity, was strategic, she emphasized. ‘God strategically placed her, and God has strategically placed everyone where we would influence our generation as she influenced hers, thereby fulfilling divine purpose,’ she said.
Apostle Femi-Asiwaju added that the conference was God’s opportunity to align every participant with His purpose so that His glory could be revealed through them.
“Many desire glory, but God is concerned about position. Before the crown came the process, and before the promotion came the preparation,” she noted.
Encouraging the large gathering of participants and delegates across various parts of the state, she urged women, who understand the significance of position, to take their rightful place in God’s kingdom and in their generation.
She expressed her conviction that the conference would empower participants, transform lives, renew visions, and align destinies with God’s purpose.
While appreciating the State Chairman of PFN, Pastor Yemi Davids, for his exemplary leadership, support, and guidance, she commended the State Vice Chairperson, Rev Mrs. Jane Onaolapo, for her motherly role, also the planning committee and volunteers for their commitment.
Apostle Femi-Asiwaju encouraged participants to engage wholeheartedly and be receptive to divine positioning, declaring that they would not miss God’s plan for any moment and, like Esther, would rise in courage to fulfill their purpose and manifest God’s glory in their sphere of influence.
The well-attended one-day conference featured other enlightening activities including, district presentation, panel discussion, prayer session, award presentation, and speakers are, Pastor (Mrs) Becky Apede, also a guest speaker, she spoke on, “Positioned to Mentor the Next Generation”, Pastor Lizzy Eze, Pastor Mrs Folashade Ajayi, Rev Merrilyn Akinyoade, Pastor Mrs Susan Dufia Ezeudemba, Pastor Gladys Obisihli, and others.
