Founders/Visionary, Wilson &Yinka Badejo Foundation (WYBF)
Established in 2007 by Rev. Dr. Wilson Badejo of blessed memory, Rev. Badejo was the former General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church Nigeria. Following the dual passing of Rev Dr. Wilson Badejo and his beloved wife, Rev. Mrs. Adeyinka Badejo in 2021, the foundation was renamed from the Wilson Badejo Foundation (WBF) to WYBF in 2022. WYBF has stayed the course in positively impacting lives and communities through the years and their enduring legacy continues to inspire WYBF’s mission of creating opportunities for a healthier, more productive society.
Since 2008, WYBF’s Educational Assistance Programme has proudly awarded over 500 scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The scholarships (Legacy Scholarship and Nurturing Hearts Scholarship) are distinctively aimed at academically exceptional students attending or planning to attend public tertiary institutions with an inclination and passion to effect positive change in the country.

According to a review by the Chairman, WYBF Scholarship Committee, Prof. Adebayo Oladipo, Ph.D, the Dean Faculty of Education, UNILAG, the 2024 scholarship season was one of the most dynamic periods for the Wilson & Yinka Badejo Foundation since the programme’s inception in 2008. “We saw exceptional indigent students from across the nation compete for a coveted spot among our distinguished group of scholars”, he stated.
“The 2024 application season received an overwhelming 2,618 applications from ambitious and brilliant indigent students. Following a thorough review and selection process, the scholarship committee nominated 50 deserving indigent students to receive the Legacy Scholarship and 2 students to receive the newly inaugurated Yinka Badejo Nurturing Hearts Scholarship” he said.

The Yinka Badejo Nurturing Hearts Scholarship was established in 2024 in loving memory of WYBF’S co-founder, Rev. (Mrs.) Yinka Badejo, who dedicated her life in service to humanity, especially in the uplifting of widows, orphans, women and young children. This new scholarship category is aimed at providing financial assistance and support to young females between 18 – 28 years old pursuing careers, vocational training, or professional development in Christian children’s ministry.
Mr. Femi Badejo, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of WYBF also reiterated the progress and impact that the foundation is having on students, the future leaders and nation builders of tomorrow. According to a statement, he said “ while WYBF sincerely wishes to be in a position to help and assist as many students in need as possible, it is a non-profit organisation with limited resources and cannot always provide support and assistance beyond the allocated yearly scholarship quota. We are grateful to all of the foundation’s patrons and supporters and look forward to making more impact this year and beyond.”
