How would you describe life at 60?
Life at 60 is adventurous, but with God, it has been fulfilling because life with God is different from life without God. My life without God was meaningless, but with attaining 60 years, my life is meaningful, adventurous, and fulfilling. Though challenging, as God said, when you go through fire, it will not burn you, and when you pass through water, I’m with you. His presence in one’s life subdued every power that may want to frustrate my life. God, at 60 years, my life is fulfilling and glorious.

Senior Pastor of Chapel of Exploits Intl., Church, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, cutting his 60th birthday cake.
Was there any time in your life when you got frustrated and wanted to give up?
Of the truth, I will admit that disappointment and discouragement come all together regularly. But the presence of the Holy Spirit in one’s life is the energy that drives one through. For example, on my 60th birthday and the launch of my books, we encountered some challenges, as the books arrived late, about an hour before the unveiling. That alone is a challenge, but at the end, when God is with you, you will not be disappointed and will not fail. As for disappointment, life is full of disappointment and discouragement. It is only with God that you overcome and walk over them.
Briefly tell about your journey into the ministry.
I gave my life to Christ in 1986 through my elder sister, who was attending a Bible-believing church. On a particular Wednesday, I went to their Bible study, and the light shone on me through the Bible, and I knew I needed to give my life to Jesus. That day, I gave my life to Christ and was born again in November 1986. From that time, the journey started, and I have not looked back. And my passion for God’s work has continued to grow. I kept seeking and serving God. In 1989, I was forced to be ordained as a pastor in a church, and I spent five years serving there. I also worked with a ministry called Mountain of Grace for one year, then God told me to come to Bethel Ministries.
I was at Bethel Ministries for nine years, and worked with Baba Oduyemi of blessed memory, as a crusade director, admin, and as a P.A. After nine years, I left to join Winners Chapel and worked as a part-time pastor for two years. It was at Winners Chapel that the pastor, called Elijah, told me God was calling me into full-time ministry because, as a part-time pastor, I was still in business until I obeyed the call to full-time ministry.

We started with Exploits Commanders, made changes to other names, before we settled on Church of Exploits International, as approved for our registration. They approved God of Exploits International for us. From then till now, this is my journey of how I got involved in the ministry’s work.
How would you compare your journey to what is happening today in ministerial calling?
One thing is, I don’t discourage people. When people say God called them into the ministry, time will prove it. To start is not the problem, but when God calls you into the ministry, there is no way He will not take you through the process. When God decided to come to the earth, He passed through the process of a seed in a womb, to a pregnancy, then to a baby that was carried to run away from Herod, who wanted to kill Him. All these were processed until He started following them to the temple at the age of 12.
He wanted to rush into it, but the Bible teaches that when the parents saw Him, they said, No, and He submitted to them in obedience. It was when He became a man, and He began His ministry. Ambition can cause people to enter the ministry, but you will always see the end of those who entered the ministry with ambition. People have asked me to buy the speakers from their church that folded up. They ran it for five or seven years and couldn’t continue; they had to close it up.

When you say God called you, Satan wants to prove whether it’s true, men want to prove whether it’s true, and life also wants to prove you right.
After I finished from the Bible school at Winners, I went to Sagamu and started a church. Within six months, it was booming. In three months, we broke through, reaching 100 members. But God told me, Not yet your time, go back to school. When I didn’t obey, a series of attacks rose against me, and I left, because after God spoke, the church began to dwindle. I left and went to Papua New Guinea for nine years, and came back to Winners Chapel, and all those years solidified me.

Anyone who does not climb the tree or ladder from the bottom will not be able to get to the top. The only thing you can start from the top to achieve is to dig the grave because you can only dig the grave from up to down. If you want to start anything, and you don’t want to start from the bottom or work under anyone, you’re digging your own grave.
What are your expectations beyond 60 years?
I expect to fulfil the prophecy the minister who preached on my birthday declared, now our salvation has come more than before. He said, Wake up from your sleep, more battles to fight, more territory to conquer, and thank God, He has launched me into a global ministry through my books now online and is reaching the world.
There are more territories to be conquered, more souls to be won, more nations to be taken, and more impact to be made.

Briefly talk about your books,
I have always wanted to write books, but when I started, I couldn’t complete them for about 10 years. There came a time of impartation and grace released on me; from then on, revelations began to flow. The two books were each written in one day.
One of the books started with a dream, then I waited on the Lord for a week, after which I had an encounter. After the encounter, I had a dream where I was flying in a territory where others were struggling and crawling. When some people asked how I did it? I told them, it’s the Philip dimension, then I woke up saying, Philip dimension. From there, deep revelation started coming, and I began to write. With prayer and technology, I was able to finish writing within four days.
The first one, the Lord asked me to give the testimony of how I got my property. By faith, I got the land free, and the house was built free, and the church was also built free. The car I am using was freely given to me; other things are by faith, and God instructed me to share this with people.
There’s a principle God gave me that if I follow, I can get things supernaturally. I followed those principles, and I was getting things supernaturally. These are the principles God asked me to share with people. As a child of God, you don’t need to wait for money to get whatever you want to get. God did not put them down by money; He put them there by word and spirit, and by words and spirit, you can get whatever you want to get.
Even people in darkness understand this reason, they follow the way of spirits in darkness to get whatever they want. They know in the dark world that it involves spirits.

It’s not how much you labour or how hard you work, but it is the blessing of God. The blessing of God maketh rich and adds no sorrow. There are principles to follow, where you need to make prophetic declarations, where you only need to believe God’s promises and declare them until the word becomes flesh in your life.
The Bible says, You will live in the house you did not build, drink where you did not dig, eat where you did not plant. Suddenly, it happened to me, I am living in a house I did not build.
This house was built and handed over to me without my dime. The church was built, and it was handed over to me without my dime. As a child of God, I have taught some people the same principle, and it works with testimonies.
The Bible teaches that God reveals hidden things. There are hidden things of God; if you don’t know it, you’ll be walking on the shallow ground, and until you know that treasures are not kept on the surface, but in the deep. The treasure of the word of God is in the deep knowledge of God. This is a principle we should follow, and what we should do. Most of the fathers in faith we see living as if they are in another world; it is those secrets that worked for them. The word of God became flesh in their lives; it became a house, a car, and whatever they wanted.
Hold on unto the word as God did in the beginning, and God said, and God saw. If you keep on saying it, you will see it; it’s a principle.

Did you work in any professional field?
Yes. When I finished secondary school, I couldn’t continue my education due to a lack of resources because my parents were poor. On my own, I walked to Lagos Television and told them I needed a job. They asked, What can you do? I said I can do “ewi” (folklore) and can sing.
I started working at Lagos Television on a part-time basis, but I learned more and later went to do a one-year diploma course in computers. From there, I was invited to be a teacher at the computer school.
I attended a theological school and have my PhD in strategic leadership. Also at Winners Chapel, I did a course on ministerial leadership. That was how my journey has been.
What is your advice to the younger generation?

I will advise them to have faith and be patient. The Bible says, Follow them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. They should have faith, and faith in God is not a day job; it’s a phase, and faith grows. When faith grows, you will know, because it will produce results, and once faith increases, achievement will increase.
