    Reasons I am into the Ministry of Women                           – Dr Priscilla Otuya

    “IF YOU WILL NOT CHANGE THE WAY YOU TREAT YOUR WOMEN, YOU WILL NOT SEE MY GLORY.”

    “The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.” -Malachi 2:12 (KJV)

    For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.  -Jeremiah 8:11

    This is the word of the Lord that came during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. While preparing for a national assignment in Abuja, the Lord said:

    “Return to Lagos. There are many of my women crying in the rural places, crying for my help, especially in the church, crying to Me for help, and I want you to be their voice, and for every woman that is troubled due to your delay or disobedience, I will trouble you”. The reason I am into the Ministry of Women.

    Go back and tell the men, husbands, sons, leaders, both religious and secular, that, unless they change the way they treat women, they will not see my glory.”

    I first started with my husband and sons, making them understand the consequences of treachery against women, especially their wives.

    This is not an opinion, but an eternal decree aligned with Malachi 2:13-16 (KJV), where God declares that He Himself will cut off any man who deals treacherously with his wife.

    THE DIRE CONSEQUENCE:

    Imagine this reality;

    In every local government area of Nigeria, men who maltreat, abuse, or dishonour their wives are cut off from the flow of God’s blessing and glory.

    Multiply that by 774 local governments, then by the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The result? A nation full of households, communities, and even leaders severed from divine covering – homes without God’s glory, men without favour, leaders without guidance.

    This is not a personal tragedy; it is a national disaster.

    SAD TRUTH ABOUT THE CHURCH:

    The sad truth is, the Church that should be the first place of refuge for women, the female expression of God’s image, has in many cases become a haven for treacherous men and the pain of women is often ignored.

    There is a deafening silence in many pulpits concerning violence against women.

    Worse still, there exists an evil network of phoney preachers who are not only silent but are themselves active participants in the acts of violence, oppression, and exploitation against women.

    These men hide under religious titles and garments while they bruise, betray, and enslave their women. Yet, they lift their hands in an act of worship and offerings, thinking God is pleased with them. But the Lord says, He will cut them off.

    This does not mean to say there are no silly women (2 Timothy 3:6, KJV). Even at this, it does not excuse the wickedness of treacherous men who derived joy in the suffering of women.

    THE HYPOCRISY OF PREACHERS:

    It is interesting and tragic how several preachers passionately condemned government policies and persecuted government officials for wrongdoings, as if shouting against political corruption would excuse their own iniquity.

    God is not mocked. He has made it clear: any man who treats his wife treacherously will be cut off. This is not a lesser sin. It is a root cause of much of our national decline.

    The truth is, bad leadership has been a hindrance to Nigeria’s development. But treachery against women is a deeper curse. For any man that God cuts off cannot prosper, and when he seems to prosper, the scripture warns: “The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.” (Proverbs 22:14, KJV).

    This means when men betray, abuse, or manipulate women, they open themselves to God’s judgment. They end up seeking solace in silly and strange women, thinking they are enjoying themselves. But in truth, these very women become God’s instrument of punishment, a pit into which angry men fall.

    THE GENERATIONAL IMPACT:

    Every act of treachery against women affects children, it destabilises families, multiplies pain, and weakens society at its very foundation.

    It is time for us as men, husbands, leaders, and preachers, to cover our faces in shame, to repent, and cry out:

    “Lord, forgive us. Heal our land. Change the way we treat women, and let thy glory return.”

    PROPHETIC DECLARATION AND PRAYER:

    We declare over Nigeria;

    Every chain of treachery and oppression against women is broken in the name of Jesus.

    Let the cry of women in villages, cities, and homes rise before the throne of God as incense.

    Let every treacherous man, no matter his status, be exposed and cut off until repentance is found.

    May the Spirit of the Lord turn the hearts of fathers to honour mothers, the hearts of husbands to cherish wives, and the hearts of sons to protect sisters.

    Lord, forgive our silence, forgive our cruelty, our betrayal, and heal our land. Restore Your glory, and let Nigeria rise again.

    So let it be written, and be established, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
