In Spite of Everything! By Babatunde Olugboji
As 2021 ends, it may be difficult to find the good in what has been a difficult year. Covid 19 is still raging, all kinds of challenges are still facing mankind, and many of this year’s events have created unexpected change in the life of many people.
The ending of a year would usually bring about joyous moments and an exciting list of New Year’s resolutions to accomplish, but instead, 2021 seems to have left many of us desperately in need of hope, healing, and peace. But despite these challenges, we still got many, many reasons to thank God.
Father, we thank You for an opportunity of new beginnings in a couple of weeks. What an incredible moment it is with a fresh year’s potential stretched out before us.
Help us o Lord to be faithful in our work this year. We thank You that You are always with us, that You are in us as we abide in You.
Open our ears as we approach 2022, so that we can hear You and enjoy You at every junction, when You tell us to turn right or left.
Heavenly Father, we give You thanks from the depth of our heart. You are a good Father. You have been good to us. Your mercy has seen us through all these months. (1 Chronicle 16:34, Psalm 136:1-3).
Indeed Father, this is the year You have made.
Thank You for giving us joy even when there is sadness all around us. We bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for You have exalted above all things your name and your word in our situation (Psalm 138:1-2).
Thank You for protecting and preserving us and not allowing the plans of the devil to prosper. Indeed, it has been a year of He who watches over us does not slumber nor sleep.
Thank You for dividing the Red Sea that confronted us during the course of the year. We appreciate You for making a way for us to walk in victory throughout this year.
Thank You, Father, for the gift of salvation. For by grace we are saved, not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us and helps us at all times.
Thank You for the gift of your Word, through which we know your will for our lives.
Thank You for sending your angels to take charge and keep us in all our ways.
Thank You, Heavenly Father for the Blood of Jesus Christ that washes us, from all unrighteousness, and speaks better things for us, even when we do not know it.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that by the reason of your blood, no weapon formed against us prospered, and they that those that gathered together against us, and our loved ones were scattered.
Be praised forever and ever.
We shall cross over to 2022 without carrying over the baggage of 2021.
Have a great week.
