Every Woman is Unique and Blessed with A Purpose to Fulfil – Pastor Yemi Davids
The Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Lagos State chapter, Pastor Yemi Davids, has spoken out against the situation where society is not keen on encouraging its women. He called on women not to look down on themselves, even if society does.

Pastor David made this known in his goodwill message at the Lagos State PFN Women’s Wing Conference and Retreat, themed ‘Awakening to God’s Purpose,’ held at The Apostolic CampGround, Ketu, Lagos. He said, “We live in a society where it looks like women are not encouraged, and pained that they do a lot, and carry a lot of burdens”.

He emphasised that, when God made man, he blessed them, not him. “Every woman should know that she’s blessed, she has a purpose to fulfil, and there are things in her that will bless her world. She should never look down on herself, even when others do that, because, God bless the man and the woman together”, he declared.

Describing the conference and retreat as having a cup of tea, and you put sugar in it, it goes to the bottom, but you need to stir it for the entire cup of tea to experience the sugar. A conference and retreat like these are ways to stir that sugar and wake up the purpose inside you. The sugar is already in the teacup, but they need to be stirred so you don’t have a sugarless tea, he said.

He stressed further, “When you have been labouring and doing things, you need to retreat to recalibrate, to awaken God’s purpose within you”.

“I want every woman to be encouraged, to know that they are also a blessing. When God made man, He blessed the man and the woman together”, Pastor Davids charged.

In her contribution to the conference theme, the Lagos State PFN Vice Chairperson, Rev. Dr. Jane Onaolapo, described women as unique, created differently by God, and they should not be men but simply do what God has called and designed them to do.

She advised women to discover their purpose and fulfil it. “God made a man and said it is not good for him to be alone, he needs something better to help him, and God created the woman to fulfil a particular purpose that man cannot fulfil”, she said.

Dr. Onaolapo stated that, in today’s society dominated by men, no challenge cannot be overcome, but it depends on the woman if she allows challenges to overwhelm her.

She said, “The Holy Spirit is the same. There is no female or male Holy Spirit, or gendered Holy Spirit. God will not fill men with 100% Spirit and fill women with 60%. They are all filled, there was no gender filled. When a woman begins to think about gender, that’s when she will be challenged. But when she believes in herself that there is no gender, she hits the ground running to do whatever God has called her to do”.

Addressing the large turnout of participants from different parts of the 21 provinces, the wife of the State PFN chairman, Pastor (Mrs.) Bimbo Davids stated that God has a purpose for every woman, and looking ahead, the expectations from the conference are high. We are looking forward to celebrating women who are stirred up to glorify God in their purpose. Be it a pastor’s wife, G.O., evangelist, missionary, or whatever area God has categorically called a woman to occupy in the ministry and other life endeavours. “The best of God is always ahead, I am looking forward to greater testimonies of purpose, peace, and clarity with what God wants us to do as women”, she said.

Pastor Bimbo considered today’s society, where women are relegated and encouraged them not to try and compete or fight their way to the top. Whatever God has a purpose for a woman, as she trusts God, He will give her that space and use her anytime and at any opportunity. “God is not stranded and can never be relegated. He will open up the opportunities because He gave them the gift”.

She advised women not to shy away from sharing ideas and working together. “We are not in competition with ourselves; we need each other. Your strength can complement my weakness”, she advised.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Coordinator of the State PFN Women’s Wing, Apostle Josphine Femi Asiwaju, stated that this is a landmark, being the first-ever live-in conference and retreat in the history of the PFN women’s wing in Lagos State; the moment should not be taken for granted.

She acknowledged Pastor Yemi Davids’s leadership style with knowledge, wisdom and divine insight since the assumption as the Lagos PFN chairman has brought new light and strength to the women’s wing mission.

Apostle Josephine called on the women to embrace the two-day encounter with an open heart and teachable spirit. Whether it concerns your career, ministry, marriage, parenting, family life, or relationships. You are in the right place to receive wisdom, healing, direction, and divine empowerment. The sessions and activities have been prayerfully and purposefully designed to add spiritual, emotional, intellectual and relational value to your lives. Let us be physically present and spiritually alert to maximise every moment”, she pleaded.
