COGIC Nigeria United Sets to Hold Lifeline Global Crusade in Lagos
The Nigeria United Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Church of God in Christ (COGIC), has concluded plans in collaboration with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria to organize a Lifeline Global Crusade in Lagos from Thursday, 12th to Saturday 14th, September, 2024 at Jesus House Transformation Church, Surulere, Lagos.
The Divine Assignment crusade theme, “Abundant Life ” aims to bring thousands of Christians from across the world together in an atmosphere of in-depth, bible teachings, worship, word declaration, prophetic ministration, praise, entrepreneurship seminar, free medical test, and empowerment for the less privileged.
Speaking on the crusade, the founding pastor of Life Center Church of God in Christ, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, US, and the Jurisdictional Prelate, Nigeria United Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Church of God in Christ (COGIC), Bishop Micaiah James Young Sr said, the crusade is set towards making a difference, to touch lives and spread the gospel message of salvation.
Bishop Young Sr, a well-traveled missionary across the continent, including continuing doing mission work and ministry in Nigeria, said “There is a lot of mission work still to be done in Nigeria. We have areas to be reached and people to be impacted and empowered with the gospel in Nigeria. These are part of our mission to Nigeria”.
He stated that The Global Crusade is designed to minister to individuals who need hope and to be given a new start in life.
“We are not targeting people who already know the gospel. Our target is the people who don’t know the gospel, also to give hope to people who are walking the streets aimlessly, who feel that they don’t have hope, who feel their life is over”, he said.
He further said we want to give them a reason to be hopeful and keep living. We want to minister to them and encourage them. We want to empower them with tools and resources to be somebody, to take initiative, and to live productive lives.
Bishop Young acknowledged the challenges many faced due to the environment and circumstances, which often hindered their aspirations. “Sometimes, people don’t attain their goals or reach for anything more because of their surroundings,” he explained.
“Also, our goal is to strategically minister to leaders and pastors who are ministering to others. It’s always challenging to offer encouragement when you aren’t encouraging yourself.”
The crusade that will have PFN Surulere Province Chairman, Rev. Ephraim Ifionu, Bolaji Akinyemi (Voice of His Word Min.), Mother Success Okeke, Pastor Sean Tatum, Superintendent Kurtis Bank, and others as guest speakers will also feature revival, ministers conference, seminar, personal counseling, youth development, and praise.
