    THE REMAINS OF LATE Chief CHRISTIANA OPARA, MOTHER OF THE PIONEER EXE SECRETARY OF NCPC WILL BE LAID TO REST 7TH AUGUST

     

    Late Chief Mrs. Christiana Opara, mother of the Pioneer Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Prof. John Kennedy Opara, peacefully passed on to eternal glory on the 7th of May, 2026, at the age of 83.

    The Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Prof Stephen Adegbite with the pioneer Executive Secretary of NCPC, Prof John Kennedy Opara and his family during the service of songs for the late Chief Mrs Christiana Opara.

    Throughout her lifetime, she lived a fulfilled and exemplary life. She was a devout Christian, a God-fearing woman, and a respected community leader who devoted herself to the upliftment of women, children, and the less privileged. Her impact within her community and beyond will remain fondly remembered.

    According to a statement by Celestine Toruka, the Director Media and Public Relations, NCPC, the funeral rites commenced with a Requiem Mass on Wednesday, the 29th of July, 2026, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, Abuja. This will be followed by a Night of Praise in her honour on Thursday, the 6th of August, 2026, at Umuopara Nguru Obetiti, Aboh Mbaise, Imo State. The Burial Mass and Interment will take place on Friday, the 7th of August, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Umuopara Nguru.

    The children, grandchildren and members of the Opara’s family with other guests in group photograph with officiating priests during the service of songs for late Chief Mrs Christiana Opara.

    She is survived by children, grandchildren, and other relatives, among whom is Prof. John Kennedy Opara, the Pioneer Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission and Chairman of CSS Global Integrated Farms, Gora, Nasarawa State.

    May the soul of Late Chief Mrs. Christiana Opara, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in perfect peace. Amen
