Prioritise Your Life, Take Territories, and Invest Right – Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo
The founding Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Church (KICC), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, has forwarded an advice to Christians to be sensitive, alert, and arise to take territories, occupy spaces, and invest right into the future rather than looking at the situations around them and be complaining, lamenting, and pointing accusation fingers.

Quoting a United Nations statistics stating that approximately 10,000 people come into Lagos every day, he said, “in the next 25 years, Lagos is going to be the largest city on earth. It’s going to change from 24 million to 40 million. It will overtake Tokyo, and overtake every big city on earth to become number one.” He went on to ask, what does 25 years mean to you, and where will you be, or what would you do about it? Do you cross your legs, retire, and relax, still living in the same sitting room, drinking Coca-Cola, and flexing how long you have been in Lagos, or have lived in a particular area, or would you make up your mind and take territories?
“If this city is going to be the largest in the future, then you need to launch something that will get 40 million to watch out for, ” he charged.

Pastor Ashimolowo made this revelation as the guest speaker during the annual Word Conference of Vineyard Christian Ministries, held at the Church headquarters in Osolo Way, Lagos.
He said further that much of the land mass of Papa Ajao, or Ajao Estate, from the airport road to Mushin is owned by a man called Ajao, who took over the land from a family, and only gave them some amount of money. “Ajao was not the family that owns the land; he’s the man who bought the whole place, and 25, 40 years later, his son’s name, and his name is what has taken over. The original occupants of the land have lost their name, he declared.
He spoke against allowing the children to live outside the country as a way of escaping hard situations. Ashimolowo said it is not an achievement, but a lack of discretion, a waste of time, resources, and misplaced priority.
Pastor Ashimolowo emphasised that he has lived in England for 41 years, and to understand England, he studied the sociology of Britain. He requested to be shown 10 Nigerians who broke through in business abroad. Most of them are middle-class or lower-class individuals who secure a job, a car, and a house. Then brag, saying, at least, it is not compared to Nigeria; there is life here. Is that all about life? “Believe it or not, Nigeria is going to be one of the wealthiest nations on earth, he assured.
“Anywhere 40 million people live is no longer a poor man’s land. If you need to buy land, purchase every piece of land you can find and obtain all the necessary documents. If you have your own land, you’re going to be a millionaire, Ashimolowo added.
