Kumuyi at Donald Trump’s Praise and Prayers Inauguration Convocation, ... praying for forthrightness to speak the truth to power.
The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, was among the top gospel ministers from around the world invited as a guest speaker to the special Praise and Prayers Convocation programme ahead of the inauguration of President Donald Trump in the United States of America.
According to a programme monitored by Providence News, Pastor Kumuyi was introduced to the large audience of other gospel ministers from across the globe as a former mathematics professor and pastor of the third largest church in the world.
Kumuyi was ushered to the podium to pray for the U.S. and the President-elect ahead of the inauguration taking place today at 6 PM (WAT).
In an unusual manner, without wasting time or making any speech, Pastor Kumuyi called on the large audience, “Let us pray.”
He charged and said, “Almighty God, we thank You and bless Your name. What a great and glorious God You are! And what a gathering we have this afternoon! We thank You for the Church in America.”
“You said upon this rock You will build Your Church, not just for that generation but for all generations. And You said the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” he stressed.
He continued, “Lord, we have come in preparation for the inauguration of Donald Trump, the president tomorrow. We are asking You to grant him wisdom and grant the Church unity, knowledge, and forthrightness to speak the truth to power.”
“And we pray as You connect the Church with the leader, we pray that it will be a good unity that will help the president and the Church to remain the Church.
Revive the Church and purge Your Church, so that there will be holiness and the righteousness You expect for Your children, and Your Church will have a meaningful ministry in government as well as in the nation,” he added.
“Oh Lord, answer the prayers of Your people for this nation, America, in Jesus’ name,” he concluded.
